With over 20 years of experience training service dogs, therapy dogs, rescue animals and pets, Chrissy is passionate about helping dogs lead healthier, happier lives.  She also specializes in behavior modification programs for difficult cases including those with fearfulness, anxiety, reactivity and aggression.  

Throughout her career she has observed how impactful both physical activity and mental stimulation are in establishing and maintaining balanced behavior and overall well-being. However, exercise is often one of the most commonly unfulfilled needs for dogs for a variety of common and valid reasons (time constraints, weather conditions, physical limitations, dog temperament or training status, access to safe off-leash spaces, etc.).  

Chrissy wanted to find a way to make it easier for dogs of all types and temperaments to get the exercise and enrichment they need, no matter the weather, time constraints, or space limitations. Hence, UpDog Gym was conceived. 

One of Chrissy's greatest joys is seeing dogs of all temperaments discover the joy of movement in the mobile gym. From confident pups who race straight onto the treadmill to those who take their time to warm up, she celebrates every small victory along the way. She’s especially proud of the way her own senior dog (who is losing his vision), enjoys and thrives on the slatmill, proving that regular exercise is beneficial for dogs of all ages.

When she’s not working with dogs, Chrissy enjoys traveling, photography, and crafting. Her four dogs continue to inspire her daily, and she is committed to helping yours live a longer, healthier, and more balanced life. At UpDog Gym, Chrissy’s goal is simple: to make sure every dog has fun while getting the physical and mental stimulation they need to be their best selves.
